Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL,so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.
Generally sitemap is simply a search engine site map. A search engine site map, which is a file stored in the public folder of a Web site, helps search engines index the site better. For example, search engines such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN support the Sitemap protocol, which is an XML-based description of the URLs for each page on the site.Now if you are using blogger, then simply upload an xml or HTML sitemap file to your blog. This post will help you to submit a sitemap to google upto 5000 posts.So you can follow these steps to add a site map to your blogspot blog:
STEP:1
Login into Google Webmaster Website.
STEP:2
Then Click "ADD SITE" Button.
Then type your website or blog address.
STEP:3
Google webmaster want to verify, that the given website is your's or not. So Click on verify your site,Then select the "ADD META TAG" option.
Then copy the given Meta Tag, and paste it in your's blog in "EDIT HTML" in "LAYOUT" Tab.
After that Save the Template.
STEP:4
Then click on "VERIFY" in Google Webmaster.Then a message will be displayed as your website is verified
STEP:5
Now click on "SITEMAPS" Link in "Site Configuration".

Then in the "SUBMIT A SITEMAP" blank space, type the following(in bold):
